Below is a diagram depicting another simple LAN. A network configuration such as this would enable communication between all of the workstations, the server, and the internet. All of the computers in this LAN would be able to simultaneously access the internet. Please note that a router and a cable or DSL modem are required for internet access.

This configuration is identical to the one shown above with the exception of the VPN elements. Please refer to our VPN section for details about VPN.

The diagram below is simply a larger LAN with internet access. Please note the addition of another server. This additional server could be used as a Web, E-Mail, or FTP server. It could even be configured to handle all three tasks at once.
